Thanks for visiting PixelHell.com. If you know me, you probably know me as a writer with a background in the visual arts. If you’ve read me, chances are it was in L.A. Weekly, where, starting in 1993, I was a writer, proofreader, editor and, between early 1998 and late 2007, columnist (Column Dave and Sitegeist).

But I'd like to confess here that between 1995 and 2003 I was also the Weekly’s lead editorial designer, scanning and retouching thousands of images and laying out thousands of pages. It was a good job, a full-time job, a union job, at what was once an amazing workplace and is now, I believe, a vacant building on Sunset Boulevard just east of Highland.

In conclusion: People pay me to design things, scan things, retouch things. Please join them.
